Challenges

Overview

The challenge is part of the intake process in Altus. The challenge is a mechanism for the organisation to identify a problem or objective holistically at the highest level. These can be linked to Strategic themes and further expanded on via Ideas.

Views

Below is an example of the All Active Challenges view. This is the default view in Altus and has a hard filter to only show Active items:

  • Existing columns can be added to the view by clicking on Edit Columns.
  • View filters can be changed using Edit Filters.

OOTB Views

Altus comes with the following views for Challenges:

Item Form

There are two types of items forms in Altus:

  • Quick Create: This is a simple version used to create the item.
  • View/Edit: Provides a full browser width version containing all fields and features.

There is no quick create form for challenges.

Business Process Flow (BPF)

Challenges have the following approval process which are controlled by a business process flow. The process has three steps:

Define

This step in the process involves identifying stakeholders and launching the challenge.

Collaborate

Once the challenge has been defined it moves to the collaborate stage. In this stage, Ideas can be submitted against the challenge. At the end of the collaborate stage, no further Ideas can be submitted.

Evaluate

The final step in the process involves reviewing the Ideas and closing the challenge.
