Ideas

Overview

An idea can be created directly or can be the response to a challenge that has been raised. The idea is very high level and seeks to provide some objective numbers regarding cost, risk profile and strategic alignment. The approval of an idea generates a proposal record where further information can be captured.

Views

Below is an example of the All Active Ideas view. This is the default view in Altus and has a hard filter to only show Active items:

  • Existing columns can be added to the view by clicking on Edit Columns.
  • View filters can be changed using Edit Filters.

OOTB Views

Altus comes with the following views for Challenges:

Item Form

There are two types of items forms in Altus:

  • Quick Create: This is a simple version used to create the item.
  • View/Edit: Provides a full browser width version containing all fields and features.

Business Process Flow (BPF)

Ideas have the following approval process which are controlled by a business process flow. The process has two steps:

Identify

This step in the process involves selecting the related challenge and specifying the investment category.

Review

Once the idea has been identified, it is submitted for review. Once the review has been completed it might become a proposal.
