Altus Configuration Settings

The following settings are shipped as Active in Altus:

General

Dataverse URL for Synapse

As Synapse has no easy way to determine the URL of the connected environment this setting is used instead.

Global Configuration

This setting controls features that are applicable to the entire Altus app, for the example the top ribbon bar.
The Global Quick Create button will be hidden by default in Altus to reduce user confusion. This setting acts as an override to make that button visible if required.

Grid Cell Renderer

This setting can be used to configure the 'Power Apps Grid Control' used within Altus. It contains many default settings and can be customised further.

Key Dates Kanban

This setting allows you to customise the columns shown in the Key Dates Kanban control, as well as their colour and icon displayed. The mapping of the option status to the column is done by the id to ensure that labels update automatically.

Landing Page

This setting allows you to customise the landing page of Altus by adding or overwriting panels. Panels and links can be security trimmed to specific roles.

Report Viewer Config

This is where embedded report URLs can be associated with a tab.

  • The corresponding tab is expected to be named in the format 'tab_report_', for example 'tab_report_projectStatusReport'.
  • Parameters may be supplied to a paginated report via the URL but must be prefixed with 'rp:'.
  • The record ID will be substituted if '$' is used in the URL string.

Solution Notification Config

This setting allows you to configure whether you want Altus to automatically check to see if it is out of date and alert a specific Security Role of this fact.

Tabs for Portfolio details in Sensei IQ

This setting allows you to configure which tabs are shown within a Portfolio, and in what order.

Tabs for Program details in Sensei IQ

This setting allows you to configure which tabs are shown within a Program, and in what order.

Teams App Instance

This setting allows you to set the URL of the Altus for Teams instance for this environment.

Business Process Flow

Business Process Flow Field Locks

This setting allows you configure what fields should be locked in the different stages of the BPF process.

Finance

Display Greyscale Past Forecast and Future Actuals

This setting allows you to turn on the feature of when viewing the Financials timeline, entries for Forecasts in previous months and entries for Actuals in the current (or future) months will be shown in grey.
This setting has a Yes/No toggle.

General Settings

This setting configures the precision of decimal values, allows authorised users to edit financial data directly in the grid, and allows transaction types to be locked based on user roles.

Fiscal Year Start Month Number

This setting allows you to configure what the first month in the Fiscal/Financial year is for the organisation.

Form Behaviour

Allows the override of whether default transaction information is present for new Budgets and Cost items and allows override of the Form used when clicking through to view details for a Financial Item.

Decisions Summary

This setting allows you to configure the Portfolio Decisions Summary PCF control.

This setting allows you to control whether Microsoft 365 Groups can be created from the Portfolio Group Owner picker control (this is turned on by default). This setting allows you to configure the Portfolio Risk Matrix PCF control.

This setting allows you to control which of the tabs in the Portfolio are visible to users.

Power BI Insights

Portfolio Innovation

This setting allows you to set the URL of the Power BI report that should display on the Portfolio Innovation Insights page in Altus.

Portfolio Intake

This setting allows you to set the URL of the Power BI report that should display on the Portfolio Intake Insights page in Altus.

Portfolio Leadership

This setting allows you to set the URL of the Power BI report that should display on the Portfolio Leadership Insights page in Altus.

Power BI Environment Value Format

This setting can be used as a tool for generating valid json configuration strings to allow configuration of Power BI Embedded Reports in Altus.

Resource

This setting allows you to set the URL of the Power BI report that should display on the Resources Insights page in Altus.

Strategy Leadership

Projects

Altus for Project Configuration

This configuration setting allows administrators to turn on the Altus for Project feature, set which security roles can link and unlink mpp files to Altus Projects and set the maximum number of mpp files can be saved against each project.

The Standard Altus field mapping can be viewed in this setting and Custom field mapping can be set-up for this environment within this setting.

Altus Local Schedule Options

This configuration setting allows you to turn off the Altus native scheduler.

Baseline Settings

This setting allows you to configure Baseline settings for Projects. The Disable Altus Baselining property is set to 'No' by default (Baselining is turned on) but can be optionally turned off by setting the value to 'Yes'. The Security Roles who can set Baselines in Altus property defines which Security Roles are given the ability to create Baselines in Altus. Note that any security role you specify here must also have permissions to the related Baseline Entities/Tables. Note: Up to 20 Baselines can be created per Project.

Project Ownership Reassignment

This setting allows you to configure if the Ownership of a project should be based on the Project Manager field and not the user who is creating the Project.

Project Progress

This setting allows you to configure what KPIs are visible on the Project Status widget on the Details page. These settings allow for the hiding of specific KPIs based on the Enterprise Project Types selected.

Resourcing

General Settings

This setting allows you to configure some of the basic features within the Resource module.

Resource Finance Sync

This setting configures the default options for Resource to Finance Sync functionality, including synchronisation permissions, calculation modes, default cost categories, and rate types.

Resource Horizon

This setting allows you to set the horizon number both in the past and future, that the Resource Module will use when it calculates a Bookable Resource's capacity. This calculation generates a lot of data. Only increment horizon settings if required and where capacity for the increased data exists in the Dataverse database. Extending this setting too far cause negative load times in the Resource grids.

This setting has a number field for the "Resource Horizon - Past Capacity (Months)" and "Resource Horizon - Future Capacity (Months)" and a Yes/No toggle to turn the feature on.


Risks

Risk to Issue Mappings

This setting allows you to configure what Risk field values should be copied to the Issue, when a user selects to create an Issue from a Risk.

Security

Cloud Services

This setting allows an Altus administrator to disable the Product Help services. It is enabled by default. More information on this feature can be found here.

Form Tab Visibility Service Exclusions

This setting allows you to configure what tabs you'd like Altus to ignore. This allows for the form load to be smoother and prevent conditional tabs from being seen until the system confirms they should be visible. Here you can mark tabs hidden to be ignored so they can stay hidden or be made visible via other means.

Alternatively in the form add the following to the internal tab name "_ignoreftv".

Prevent Bookable Resource Delete by Non-Admins

Altus users who have read/write visibility of a Bookable Resource can delete them. Setting this value to true will ensure that only Altus Admin users can delete Bookable Resources.

Prevent Portfolio Delete By Non-Admins

Altus users who have read/write visibility of a Portfolio can delete them. Setting this value to Yes will ensure that only Altus Admin users can delete Portfolios.

Prevent Program Delete By Non-Admins

Altus users who have read/write visibility of a Program can delete them. Setting this value to Yes will ensure that only Altus Admin users can delete Portfolios.

Prevent Project Delete By Non-Admins

Altus users who have read/write visibility of an Altus Project can delete them. Setting this value to Yes will ensure that only Altus Admin users can delete Projects.

Role Field Check

This setting allows the administrator to configure the fields and tabs on forms (that have a handler registered) to be shown based on the user being in a certain role.


Status Updates

Baseline Settings

This setting relates to the Status Update Baseline feature (as distinct from the Project Baseline feature). The Enable status update baselines for projects setting toggles whether the Status Update Baseline feature is turned on. If enabled, the default source for baseline finish and work on the Status Update screen will be set from Status Updates. If disabled and Project Baselines are enabled, then the source for baseline finish and work will be set from the Reportable Baseline for the Project. More information on this topic can be found here

Duplication Fields

This setting allows you to configure what fields will be copied from the previous Project Status Update when the user clicks the Duplicate Status Update button on the Status Update toolbar.

This setting allows you to configure the KPIs on the Status Updates app.

This setting configures options for locking Information Panels in Status Updates, including manual lock permissions and the notification message displayed upon locking.

Strategy

General Settings

This setting is to set the initiative type used in the selection of initiatives in a prioritisation.
This setting is also to set the default Evaluation Impacts for Evaluation Criteria.

This setting is to create the categories of the evaluation criteria by which they will be grouped in the Evaluation tab of an initiative.

This setting is to create/edit evaluation criteria for the prioritisation and to allow users to evaluate initiatives to prioritise.

This setting is to create/edit prioritisation models that will be used in prioritisation, allowing users to prioritise initiatives against each other.

Tasks

General Settings

This setting allows administrators to adjust the task system's behaviour, including disabling automatic synchronization of resource assignments to the owning group and defining specific roles that can unlink projects.


Teams

App Tabs

This setting allows administrators to configure custom tabs in the Teams app by displaying either entity views or web pages.

Channel Tabs

This setting specifies the channel tabs that will be created by the Teams app for each project. The array contains a list of the Microsoft Graph objects to create a channel tab. The following tokens will be replaced with the project specific value. {projectId}, {orgUrl}, {appId}
